Passages
Bob
Parvin/ Sandra Nykerk

Bob
Parvin, Adobe Mission in Presidio,
Texas
Passages
will showcase the art of two talented
photographers, Bob Parvin and Sandra Nykerk.
Parvin’s insightful photography focuses
on the broad range of cultural and natural
resources in his native Lone Star state,
Northeastern New Mexico and the rim of
the US/Mexican Gulf Coast. Working in
the setting of Yellowstone National Park,
Nykerk’s fine art images reflect her acute
interest in cultural landscapes and the
abstract.

Painted
Memory: Fidencio Duran / Oaxacan Sand
Paintings by Santa Barraza

Fidencio
Durán, Corazon Espinado,
40" x 40", 2001, acrylic/canvas
The
Art of Fidencio Durán is a mid-career
retrospective of the Austin-based artist.
Influenced by growing up in a large family
and a small rural community, Durán
paints his own world: family life, celebrations,
rituals, and community. It is our privilege
to exhibit the work of this widely recognized
artist who can move from large murals
to intimate small canvases with the swish
of a brush.

Art
Guys Go Public
The
Art Guys in their SUITS next to Joseph
Beuys Felt Suit, Museum of Contemporary
Art, Chicago, 12/4/98
Art Guys Go Public
is a three-part exhibit of these zany
artists’ realized projects, projects in
progress, and projects yet to come. Described
in the New York Times as "a cross between
Dada, David Letterman, John Cage and the
Smothers Brothers", The Art Guys are the
court jesters of the postmodern age. The
Art Guys present a blend of performance,
conceptual and visual art that explores
the absurdities of contemporary life and
pokes fun at the art world.
