Current Exhibit at the Nave Museum:
July 16 - August 29
On Friday, July 16th, the Nave Museum will present “Solo & Collaborative Exhibit: Chris Silkwood & John Ross Palmer”. The exhibit will feature over 30 pieces of fine art.
Chris Silkwood is a dedicated and enthusiastic mosaic artist. She learned the art of mosaic approximately 12 years ago when living in Australia. Chris had the opportunity to study with the artists of ArtBusters, a renowned mosaic studio in Brisbane, Australia. After returning to the United States, she also took a summer course at the famed Mosaic Art School in Ravenna, Italy.
Although for the most part self-taught, artist John Ross Palmer first studied art professionally at the Santa Reparata International School of Art in Florence, Italy in 2001. In 2003, he studied under Robert Venosa in Cadaques, Spain (the former home of Salvador Dali). John spent the summer of 2004 working with Master Painter Philip Rubinov-Jacobson in the Austrian Alps. In 2005, Palmer studied mono-printmaking on Skopelos Island, Greece, under the direction of California artist Linda Goodman. Also, during the course of his more than a decade-long career, John has self-published three books.
Silkwood and Palmer have been collaborating since December 2007. They primarily do large scale pieces, 48" x 48" or larger scale pieces. Their combined dynamic styles create very popular, one-of-a-kind fine art pieces.
