A resident of Glen Rose, Texas, Robert Summers is an oil painter
and sculptor in realist style of western subjects. He is the
creator of numerous public art projects including the world's largest
bronze for Pioneer Plaza at the Dallas Convention Center.
In 1976 he was recognized as the official Texas Bicentennial Artist.
Gracing DeTar Gallery will be the work of Joe Bianchi(1874-1949),
known for his world-class spurs, and C.I. Tibiletti (1890-1980)
leather craftsman.

Stover

The
O'Connor Gallery of the McNamara House will host this exhibit
of 30 black and white photographs from vintage negatives taken in
the 1930's by Otho Hartley. In conjunction with this exhibit,
illustrations from the children's book The Trail Ride
by Jill Stover will be on display. The author/illustrator
will be present at the Opening to read and sign books.

A selection of the Leffland
drawings from the Victoria Regional Museum Association’s permanent
collection and local lenders will be displayed in the Nave Museum.
Jules Leffland designed churches, courthouses, jails, schools, commercial
buildings, hotels and private residences in Victoria and South Texas.
A native a Denmark, Leffland was instrumental in the dismantling,
moving and rebuilding of many homes from the port town of Indianola
to Victoria. Indianola was demolished by the hurricane of
1886. Leffland and his son, Kai, joined together to become
“Jul. Leffland and Son” Architectural firm after 1910 and continued
as such until Jules death in 1924.

Board of Director officers are nominated and elected and annual
minutes are read. This event is open to the public.

Pastel artist, Carolyn Hancock,
traveled the world to convey upon her viewers that although facial
structures and dress may differ from country to country, emotions
do not. Therefore, Hancock focuses on the eyes and expressions
of her subjects as they participate in everyday activities.
Her pastel work has been viewed and collected through numerous group
and solo exhibitions across the southern United States and places
such as Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia. Explore exotic
locations and intriguing individuals through the works of Carolyn
Hancock at the Nave Museum.

Annually the Victoria Regional
Museum Association celebrates El Día de los Muertos, Mexico’s Day
of the Dead, which is observed on November 2. Traditionally,
the celebration is a time for honoring deceased loved ones by creating
folk art, decorating graves, and erecting altars adorned with mementos.
All races and cultures are invited to experience the Joe Diaz collection
and altars created by Joe “King” Carrasco at the Nave Museum.

exhibition will include works by painters active in Victoria, Texas
prior to 1950. Distinguished artists such as Royston Nave,
